Terms and Conditions
Including Cancellations and Refunds


We are so pleased that you booked your stay with Edale House Bed & Breakfast and we look forward to welcoming you to the Forest of Dean.

When confirming your booking you have entered into an agreement with us. Please be aware of the following Terms and Conditions:

• The price includes accommodation plus breakfast and free WIFI. Additional services maybe chargeable.

• We accept the following forms of payment: UK debit cards, UK credit cards , Cash or BACS Transfers. We do not accept International Credit or Debit Cards, AMEX or Dinners Club.

• There is no charges made for credit or debit card payments.

• We accept all UK Debit and UK Credit Cards. We no longer accept American Express/ Dinner Club or International Credit or Debit Cards due to high charges. we have the option of Bank Transfers in UK Sterling or Cash for our foreigh Guests- Banks are available in Lydney with Cash Points also available at Tesco. these payment terms are also outlined in our confirmation email.

• Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you may have paid is non-refundable. If you need to cancel please contact us immediately. For cancellations made 5 days or less the full charge is liable to be made, unless we can re-book your room either in part or completely to another guest. We will refund the difference. Please be aware that there maybe a booking charge applicable if using a booking agent ( Booking.com, Google, Expedia etc), you are still liable to this charge if applicable as this is non-refundable by the agents at the time of booking. You are advised to take out travel insurance to cover any potential losses.

For cancellations made after this time or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling, you will be liable for the total amount. Any amendments in reduction to the booking will be charged at the original booking price when less than 5 days. We do not transfer bookings to alternative dates within the 5 days cancellation period . For this reason, you may wish to take out cancellation insurance, which can be obtained from any good insurance broker at a nominal cost.

• Please note if the no-smoking law is not adhered to a cost of £150 will be implemented for a deep clean for the comfort of our future guests.

• Cycle storage needs to be pre-booked- EBikes are charged at a £1 per day for irrespective of power use all other bikes are free of charge for storage.

• We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control ( such as Damage to property, COVID, or change of circumstance). We would give as much notice as possible and within reasonable timescales ( 5 days or more) , all monies taken for the booking will be refunded. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

• Your accommodation is available to you from 4:30pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. Please note, our check in time is 4:30pm to 6:30pm unless by prior arrangement. We may be able to accomodate either early checkings or late check outs at additional cost.

• Check out time is no later than 10:30am unless by prior arrangement and maybe subject to an additional charge.

• Payment for the services provided are payable normaly on departure. We may pre- authorise payment prior to arrival or collect payment 5 days or less.

For large bookings that involve several rooms, we may charge a non refundable deposit in order to protect ourselves should the booking cancel. Our 5 day cancellation will also remain also in place.

• Please take care with our accommodation. You are responsible and liable for any breakages/ damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant, and we may make an additional charge of £150 if you did not report this. Waterproof sheets are available on request.

For those bookings that have included either a dog or a cat, we make a small additional charge in addition to your room rate. We do not take on puppies of less than 12 months old or large dogs ( such a Bernese, Great Danes etc) . Other dogs are taken on Edale Houses own discretion. We do not take on more than 1 pet per room. Please be aware that your pet should not be left unattended in the room at anytime other than at breakfast and at the pet owners discretion. The Guest Lounge can be used subject to other guest being acceptable. The breakfast room or other eating areas do not accommodate any animals at anytime. Any pet damage to the room is liable to be charged. ( see above).

• We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

• Any data gathered during this booking may be held on computer. Credit card information is held on a separate database and is automatically deleted on the day of departure.
